MORE ABOUT KATRINA STONE
Katrina Stone is a Single Mother who has a great passion for everything birthy! Her love for expectant families, babies and the deep connection of life makes her a great choice when choosing your birth doula. She strives to give families the best possible pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience, because she knows so many women who have left their birth feeling mistreated, unheard, and sometimes even traumatized by their experience. It's time to change that!! She wants everyone to realize that birth does not have to be the most painful/scary experience of your life! "NO IT DOES NOT FEEL LIKE YOUR BREAKING ALL THE BONES IN YOUR BODY AT THE SAME TIME!" She is ready to mythbust all the old wives tales and help you to grow in knowledge of how Chatham Kent's Nurses, OB's, Midwives, and Doulas work together to bring you the best birth possible. Her goal is to unite Chatham Kent’s Doulas and medical staff to bring more education to the area about labor and your fears. In Katrina's previous years she was a dance instructor & choreographer. She loved being able to help her students grow their confidence, self appreciation, and positive body image, she longs to do the same for women in Pregnancy and labor. Her main goal is to empower other Women and to help expecting parents morph with ease into their new roles as Moms and Dads. She also wants to help young women who find themselves in an unexpected pregnancy to embrace their new calling as Mothers. Katrina herself was 18 when she found out she was pregnant. She wants to help others know that they are not alone in this frightening yet amazing experience. In October of 2018 Katrina attended and successfully completed the DONA International Birth Doula Course and the Intro to Childbirth for Doulas Course in Toronto. She is always expanding and continuing her education to better suit the families she serves. Her next adventure awaits as she plans to add aromatherapy as well as many other skills to her list. Her experience with Pregnancy, Labor, Motherhood, and Breastfeeding have shaped her to be a VERY caring, creative, and honestly cool Doula. One of her favorite things to say to women in labor is "This pain is not stronger than you, it is you!"

MEET KATRINA'S BACKUP DOULA'S
Why have a backup Doula?
For most Doulas, securing a backup is one of the essential tasks in starting a Doula business. While calling in the backup is usually not a common occurrence, all Doulas will eventually have a need for a backup. Backups are called in for different reasons such as having two clients that are in labor at the same time, a client with premature labor when the Doula is unavailable, and when the Doula is sick or injured. Having a backup Doula garuntees that you are looked after NO MATTER WHAT! This is our commitment to you and us Doula's pride ourselves on making sure you have the best birth experience possible. We will never leave you without making sure you have the full support that you need. SO let's meet some of Katrina's backups
I am Katrina Elizabeth, and I have been blessed with three amazing daughters, and a deep seeded purpose to educate and empower women during pregnancy and birth. I am an aspiring midwife and a very humble individual. Over the last 10 years I have had the honour of working with families in many different capacities as a birth support worker, lactation support consultant and a palliative care provider. As a result, I have been exposed to many diverse birthing environments and family dynamics. I became a mother as a young teenager and through this birth I experienced trauma. It took many years of processing to understand that what I needed during that time is now exactly what I am passionate about today. My credentials come from many different educators and I have collaborated my learnings, and created the Birth Warrior program.

EVA FAST
My name is Eva Fast. I'm a wife and mother of four beautiful children. I am also a certified doula with DONA International. As a young girl in grade 9, my health and fitness teacher shared with us her journey through pregnancy, labor, and delivery and I was captivated by her story and a video she showed. From that point on I had my mind set about how someday I would like for my journey to be. I was determined to do my best to labour naturally, because millions of women have done so in the past. After a few of my children were born, I realized that things don’t always go as planned and that they could have been a bit different, if I had been more informed. I wanted to do something about that. Women love sharing their birth stories, and I love hearing them. As I listened to others and shared my story and my excitement, others invited me to be a part of their stories. Through this blessing of having been invited to be a part of their miraculous journey, I discovered a new passion. Through my passion, experience and training I hope to offer many other families a servants hand and heart to help them discover their own strength and power as they journey through one of life's most memorable and exhilarating experiences...their own birth stories. My goal is to empower families with information, emotional and physical support to have positive birth experience. No matter how or where they choose to deliver their child; whether at home or in the hospital, with an OBGYN, doctor or a midwife.
AINSLIE EDMONDSON
I am Ainslie Edmondson, a mother of a sweet young boy and in love with a farmer. I am also a certified doula, with training through Babies Naturally in London, ON. I am always expanding my knowledge through courses and workshops, such as VBACing(vaginal birth after caesarean) - a topic near and dear to me. My whole heart is invested into family, birth and motherhood. Becoming a doula became very important to me following the birth of my son, when I realized how little I was prepared for such a big experience. My vision and reality were on two completely different pages! Majority of events that happened throughout my first birth, were things that could have been managed differently. It hit me how uneducated women entering the world of labor and delivery really were on their choices. I am here to provide emotional, physical and educational support to help mothers and families through pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period.
